He made his debut for the Ibrox Club in 1992 and during the 1992\/93 campaign, Steven played 8 Premier Division games as Rangers lifted another title. Steven made 23 appearances as Rangers again secured the Premier Championship in 1993\/94. <BR><BR>However, early in the following campaign the rugged defender decided to join Coventry City in a big money transfer. Steven did not settle at Highfield Road and in July 1995 he returned north to sign for Dundee United in a ?50,000 transfer deal. <BR><BR>His consistent form earned further Under 21 International honours, bringing his total at this level to a remarkable 27. In 1996\/97 he was a key player in United&#39;s successful campaign which saw the Tannadice men finish 3rd in the League. <BR><BR>Hearts were attracted to Steven&#39;s defensive strength and power in the air and when his contract at Tannadice expired, he was recruited by Jim Jefferies. Steven took some time to settle at Tynecastle, being required to operate in a number of positions in an ever-changing defensive structure. However since then the big defender has produced solid, competitive and confident displays in the centre of the rearguard. More recently, Steven has established himself in the full International squad and continues to lead the Hearts team by example.
