They will play 2008-09 in the Segunda Division, and are the reserve team of Sevilla FC.<BR><BR>Unlike in England, reserve teams in the Spain play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However, reserve teams cannot play in the same division as their senior team. Therefore, the team is ineligible for promotion to La Liga, the division in which the A-team currently plays. Reserve teams are also no longer permitted to enter the Spanish Cup.<BR><BR>Founded in 1958, Sevilla Atletico quickly became a Tercera Division contender, winning that league in 1960-61 and 1961-62, also spending one year, 1962-63, in the Segunda Division. For three years in the early 1970s, the club was relegated to regional play below the third division, but returned to the Tercera in 1976.<BR><BR>Since then, the club has split time between the Tercera, which it won five times in the 1980s, and the Segunda B. In 2007-08, the club returned to the second level, now known as Liga Adelante.
