Profile

A skilful, goalscoring midfielder who can also operate as a supplementary striker, Nicolae Dică has spent his whole career in Romania. Born in Pitesti, he has become a big favourite in the capital with FC Steaua Bucureşti, scoring freely for the club both in domestic and European competition.

Left second-tier Dacia Piteşti for top-flight FC Argeş Pitesti in 2000; scored 34 goals in 88 league appearances for club.

After nine goals in 14 appearances in the first half of the 2003/04 season, he switched in the winter to Steaua where he registered the same again to become the league's second-highest scorer.

Brought to Steaua by Victor Piţurcă, then acting as the club's sporting director.

Had an outstanding 2005/06 season – 15 goals in the league plus six in 13 UEFA Cup matches as Steaua reached the semi-finals; voted 2006 Romanian Footballer of the Year.

Four goals in his first UEFA Champions League campaign (including a double on his debut away to FC Dynamo Kyiv) but his season was cut short by a knee injury sustained in January 2007.

Injury also limited his UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying influence to six appearances, but he still scored four goals (three v Albania, one v Belarus).

Asociația Clubul Sportiv Campionii Fotbal Club Arges (English: Arges Football Club Champions Sports Club Association), commonly known as FC Arges or FC Arges Pitesti (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈardʒeʃ piˈteʃtʲ]), is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Pitesti, Arges County, that competes in Liga II.

The team was originally founded as Dinamo Pitesti in 1953, and made its top tier debut in the 1961–62 season. In 1967, it changed its name to Argeș Pitesti. The team's most successful period was in the 1970s, when they won the national title twice. Three-time Romanian Footballer of the Year winner Nicolae Dobrin was part of the squad during that period, which turned him into a symbol of the club over the years.

FC Arges has amassed over 40 seasons in Liga I, and traditionally plays its home matches at Nicolae Dobrin Stadium, which has a capacity of 15,000 seats.
","F7CA086F6FC0A17A":"1","2B1A74B80063A830":"1","7EF75D1E4642E3E6135A1C322CA1E1B9":"FC Voluntari","9754084DD0876A005F0B42622346E4ED":"10,000","225C92AE74DAA9E1":"","339EB2C6C5868AED":"20851","938F319A1A9FBD67080C39FAAF431E58":"2024-6-4","F4AE865DDB6B58D9":"FC Arges","06E668E1105E4EF9":"","3FFCEA12D25AA01C8516DF9EE5709D08":"FC Voluntari,FC U Craiova 1948,CS Mioveni,FC Steaua Bucuresti,Romania(U23),FC Arges","7B89756F852CAAC9B0BFFB251E59B5BA":"181cm","4103BB3BEF554F537F90B3CA00615F62":"Orasenesc Stadium","A09213A762233EEF":"Pitesti","51AE3EEB542020D34C08128CD3C01E6B88EB69E1589159EB":"1953-8-6","4D3C7A28520A4F75446344604C77A51F":"
