Juventus Football Club (BIT: JUVE) (from Latin iuventus: youth) commonly referred to as simply Juventus or Juve, is a football club based in Turin, Italy. With the exception of one season, the club has spent its entire history in the top flight of Italian football, where it plays in the Serie A today.

Juventus is the most successful team in the history of Italian football. Overall, the club have won 51 official trophies, more than any other Italian team; 40 in Italy, which is also a record, and 11 in European and world competitions. The Old Lady is the third most successful club in Europe and the sixth in the world with the most international titles officially recognised by one of the six continental football confederations and FIFA.

The club was the first Italian and Southern European side to have won the UEFA Cup. In 1985, Juventus, the only team in the world to have won all official international cups and championships (which includes all official European competitions and the Intercontinental Champions Clubs' Cup), became the first club in the history of European football to have won all three major UEFA competitions.

In Italy, Juventus is the club which has the biggest fan base, having also one of the largest numbers of supporters in the world, with a total of 170 million Juventus's tifosi worldwide. The club is a founding member of the European Club Association, which was formed after the dissolution of the G-14, a collection of Europe's most elite clubs.

At present, the bianconeri play their home games at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino while the stadium which the club actually owns, Stadio delle Alpi is undergoing long-term structural changes and will not be completed for use until 2011.<\/P>","AB7F89FECD1635E88F612521E9058068":"41,507","5B70C105C09228B419825F9D2D3BB765":"One of Europe's unsung heroes, Igor Tudor is a tower of strength in a defence hardly lacking quality. Tall, powerful and versatile, the Croatian was described as "one of the ten best players in the world" by his one-time national coach Mirko Jozic.

National team

Born in Split, Tudor made his international debut in November 1997 against Ukraine, and appeared three times as a substitute, aged 20, as Croatia finished third at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Injury robbed him of the chance to compete at Korea\/Japan four years later - Jozic saying: "Igor's absence means we have lost 20 per cent of our capability."

UEFA EURO 2004? qualifying

Injuries took their toll on Tudor, forcing him to miss three Group 8 qualifiers. He was fit for both legs of the play-off victory against Slovenia, though, and his considerable presence told.

Club

Previously with HNK Hajduk Split, where he played for three seasons, making 58 appearances in the Croatian Premier League, Tudor left his hometown club for Juventus FC in the summer of 2000 for €3.7m.

2000: Tudor proved an instant hit in Turin, establishing himself as a mainstay in central defence during the club's 2000\/01 campaign in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League - where he drew rave reviews. Tudor scored seven goals that season, including one against Hamburger SV, and six the following year as Juve won the Italian championship and the Italian Super Cup.

2002\/03: Tudor scored once in 14 appearances as Juve reclaimed the title. He also struck once in the Champions League, a late strike against RC Deportivo La Coru?a which prevented Juve's elimination and paved the way for them reaching the final, where Tudor was substituted after 42 minutes.
