Xerez Club Deportivo, S.A.D. is a Spanish football team from Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia. Founded on September 24 1947, the team will play the 2009–10 season in La Liga for its first time. Its reserve team is Xerez B, currently playing in Regional Preferente.

Its stadium, Estadio Municipal de Chapin, was inaugurated on July 10, 1988, replacing the old Estadio Domecq. The first match there was a friendly against Real Madrid. Team colours are usually blue shirt and socks, and white shorts.

Due to the link between Jerez de la Frontera and the United Kingdom created by the exports of sherry (Jerez in Spanish), football had its beginnings in the region towards the second half of the 1800s. In the early 1900s, Sir Thomas Spencer, whom worked with the William & Humbert winery, founded (also being chairman, player and captain) Sociedad Jerez Foot-Ball Club.

From 1942-47, the club had several names, ending with Jerez Club Deportivo, which was changed to the current name in 1960s. Xerez first reached the second division in 1953-54, remaining there for five years. After decades in that category and also in the third, it had a 2001-02 second division campaign which almost resulted in an historic top level promotion, the year after ascending another level. The club seemed certain to gain promotion all season, but ultimately failed after a dramatic loss of form towards the end of the season, only notching four points in the last eight matches.

Celebrating promotion to La LigaSince then, Xerez have finished in the top 10 in the division each campaign, except in the 2007-08 season, when a weak start led to a 15th place finish. The following campaign proved excellent, as the club was always in the top positions. On June 13, 2009, after beating SD Huesca 2-1 at home, it achieved promotion to the top division for the first time in its history. In the final day of the competition, a draw at Celta de Vigo proved enough for the title, as CD Tenerife lost 1-2 home to CD Castellón, in the final minute.<\/P>","0007E9CF9A896EC9D3CC702BC3952F9E":"Spain","52D57ABB4C76E4FB5641C3EF431CBBF1":"Spain","BB277CED872EF2132450BC10379E9FFD":"32","DAF99DFE86B9D49B":"info@xerezcd.com","97E82EC43CF9D2AC485E70CEE9A89D4A":"Hercules CF","979410D584F5F7FBE52BC514F07CC004":"","033EA04110C4B96A":"1","3A86AD48E5310F852C570B36ACD4BAB6":"","EAED8CB630D9337C78DBF9D86264B1E8":"Xerez Club Deportivo Paul Edificio Seritium bajos E-11405 JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA (CADIZ) Spain","169B71B57B449B15":"34.19","2EDF0AE83F4EAE44640AD1811EF877E6":"20,500","61CD9DEED77E23E3":"http:\/\/www.xerezcd.com","8D8D9EDFA95C72BF":"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Chap%C3%ADn+Xerez+Club+Deportivo++JEREZ+DE+LA+FRONTERA+(CADIZ)++spain&sll=36.689973,-6.118644&sspn=0.004955,0.01133&ie=UTF8&ll=36.689143,-6.120479&spn=0.002478,0.005665&t=h&z=18","F1B6E1D72D987D7B3EB458B4F65A3711":"","DB90F084860C5F3CF81F73F79F35F1F6":"1955-1-17","81B884E95AA53F78":"99620","EC1B23A51B4C607D":"Top Scorers:
